If you are buying, selling, or maintaining a business building, knowing that everything is in good working order about the building is important. You can bring in the aid of a visual inspector, but a phased array ultrasonic examination service is a better option.

The inspection can be done in a non-deconstructive way.

When some complex areas of a building have to be examined visually, the only way to get a good look at all the inner-working components is to take things apart. However, if you are using equipment to examine a piece that is capable of basically gathering x-ray imagery, you get to take a close look at a system of pipes, a piece of equipment, or some other functional component without taking it apart. For buildings that have older fixtures and equipment, deconstruction can risk doing more harm than good. Therefore, phased array ultrasonic examination services is a much more logical solution. Some of the things that can be examined include:

  • intricate plumbing systems
  • electrical wiring configurations
  • HVAC systems
  • old boiler units
  • various types of machinery

The service technician will let you know what they can examine with the equipment before you hire them to perform their services, so if you are unsure, make sure to ask.

Inspections can often be completed in a more efficient manner.

If you are in a hurry to have an inspection completed, then phased array ultrasonic examination is definitely the way to go. The only thing that takes very long is attaching the series of probes to what is being examined; the actual collection of readings does not take but a few seconds. Plus, the inspector can gather a series of readings from multiple points in rapid-fire succession just by maneuvering the probes to different areas.

The inspection is more capable of detecting small problems.

If you are having a system of pipes examined with the phased array ultrasonic examination services, for example, the equipment they use will have a series of probes that will pick up images from multiple angles. If someone is doing a visual inspection without taking the pipe system apart, they are limited to seeing problems that are only visual on the outside, and any small problem elsewhere can be super hard to detect. With the ultrasonic examination equipment, even the smallest spots of corrosion can be detected. The ultrasonic equipment is just as capable of detecting small problems on numerous items.
